WHAT THE HELL YOU LOOKIN' AT?

My family is by far my greatest accomplishment in life and my most valuable asset, without question. My High School sweetheart and wife of nearly 30 years, Candy, treats me better than I could ever deserve. She and my children have been the primary driving force in my life and Candy deserves most if not all of the credit for everything we have accomplished together.
There is a saying that, "behind every great Man is a great Woman." I surely don't claim to be a great man but behind this man is a great Woman. We have two sons, William and Christopher. Will is 30 years old and Chris is 22 years old. Will took a wife and was married on May 4th, 2001. His wife is the former Miss Amy LaMar. Five years ago on January 7th Amy gave birth to a son which now makes me the very proud Grampa of a little boy named Ty William Pollard. Amy also has a daughter that is 9 years old and who I consider, for all intents and purposes, to be my full blooded Granddaughter. So that also makes me the very proud Grampa of a beautiful little girl named Kirsten Marie Pollard. As you can probably tell I am extremely proud of my entire family. They are what makes life worth living for me and they are what keeps me sane . . . but as they say, "Sanity is Relative".
I love both of my grandchildren tremendously but I must say that my Grandson is my Pride and Joy. At this point in time he is the sole heir to carry on the Pollard legacy (on my branch of the family tree). He and his sister are my two most favorite people in the world but make no mistake about it, my wife and my son's are incredibly important to me too. However, I recently came to the conclusion that my Grandson is the sole purpose of my being on this planet we call Earth . . . to produce offspring that is as precious as life itself.
Both of them are my 'best buddies' in the whole world and they bring more joy and happiness into my life then I could ever put into words.

My health isn't what it used to be. For many years I was a Professional Auto Repair Technician. During those years I wasn't very kind to my body and in turn, my body reciprocated and it hasn't been very kind to me! I have had six surgeries on my Spine and a seventh has been recommended by my Neurosurgeon. I have resisted any future surgeries up to this point and unfortunately I now suffer from Chronic Back Pain. So at this point I refuse to even think about any more back surgeries. I still try to make the best I can out of life and I just flat out refuse to allow my back pain to control my life in any way, shape or form. The last surgical procedure I received was a cervical fusion on my neck. It was to fuse three vertebrae together (the C-5/6 & C-6/7 disc's had herniated). The cervical fusion was a prerequisite to a fifth Lumbar surgery. At this point I have a fused L-5/S-1 disc and now the L-3/4 & L-4/5 disks have herniated. So those vertebrae are now in need of a fusion after the last two unsuccessful decompression surgeries on those two levels of my spine.
But hey, no one can ever say I'm "spineless". . . I definitely have a spine, unfortunately it's just all in one piece!
Even though I have a extremely bad back I was still able to fulfill a goal in my life a couple of years back. It took every ounce of fortitude I had within me but I rode my Harley to Sturgis, South Dakota and back. It took me just over 2 weeks to do it but by gawd...I DID IT! In preparation for that trip I went on a couple of shorter 'warm-up' runs. I headed up to "The Redwood Run" in Northern California and I also made a run up into God's Country to a annual meeting of my Internet friends. It was held at a place called Beldon Town, California. Beldon Town is located along the Feather River in the Feather River Gorge. I don't think there's too much that can compare to the beauty of that area.
I must say . . . "life is good". Even with a totally screwed up back and extreme Chronic pain, life is good! But ya know...I suppose it's all what you make of it. When life hands you a big ole sack 'o lemons, you just gotta make Lemonade out of them!

As you may have surmised from my statements above, Motorcycles are my Passion. And in particular, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. I currently own three Harley's and have previously owned two others. I also have a old '58 Triumph that I'm in the process of building, chopper style. So right now I own four Motorcycles total.
They are:
1)1958 Triumph TR6 650cc
2)1955 Harley-Davidson FLH
3)1992 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic
4)2000 Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide Classic
The '58 Triumph and the '55 Harley are both project bikes and are "Under Construction". The Heritage is my "Hot Rod" and the Electra-Glide is my "Comfort Cruiser". I bought the Electra-Glide specifically with my bad back in mind. You can click on the following pages for more information about my Motorcycles.
To help me pass time I started a Harley-Davidson, Twin-Cam based Internet mailing list. I have just over 2100 subscribers on my list and it is growing by the day. For more information on the HarleyTC88 Mailing List I have provided a link to the Web Page for the list, which has a link to subscribe if you wish. Click on the "HarleyTC88 Mail List" link below if you're interested.
